Notice Abstract

R0051 - Damp Remedial Works Phase 1 The Contract is for the provision of damp proofing and refurbishment of thirteen properties in three individual streets in the greater Belfast area. The works will be carried out in two Sections. Works will comprise preparatory works to allow installation of damp proofing works including chemical injection damp proofing system in existing solid masonry walls with tanking in selected areas and provision of new solid floors and damp proof mermbrane. Existing chimney stacks are to demolished below the existing roof line and roof coverings made good. uPVC/ aluminium guttering and uPVC downpipes are to be replaced as directed. Externally render will be renewed. Brickwork mortar joints will be raked out and repointed. Internal doors sets are to be replaced with new 30 minute fire rated doors to comply with Part E of Building Regulations (N.I.). Internal faces of external walls will be dry lined with an insulated plasterboard system. New slate roof coverings will be installed over dual pitch roofs and new bituminous insulated membrane installed over flat roof coverings. External doors are to be replaced with ‘secure by design’ GRP composite doors and windows replaced with a combination of top and side hung uPVC casement windows. As part of the proposed works new kitchen and bathroom installations are to be fitted to comply with ‘Decent Homes Standards’ complete with mechanical extraction fans, steel baths, sanitary fittings and thermostatic showers. Each property is to be left in a ‘turnkey’ condition. Mechanical and Electrical systems are to be renewed. Full details are contained in the tender documents.
