Notice Abstract

CHI invites tenders via an open competitive tender process for the provision of Care for Paediatric Ophthalmology Patients CHI is seeking to outsource care for paediatric patients who have been referred for an Ophthalmology outpatient appointment. Patients may be aged from 0 – 16 years so the tenderer must demonstrate that they have the appropriate skills, expertise and facilities to provide high quality, safe and effective paediatric care. Clinically suitable patients may be diverted for treatment from CHI at Temple Street, Crumlin, Tallaght and Connolly. Services include the provision of an outpatient assessment and may also include (if clinically required) treatment for Squints, Excision of ophthalmic lesions, Muscle advancement for ptosis unilateral, Lacrimal syringing and probing, Intubation of nasolacrimal duct and a follow-up outpatient appointment (if clinically indicated). There may be a small number of young people who have exceeded the age threshold for treatment in Children's Health Ireland. The provider will place these young people on a pathway of treatment and if clinically indicated will refer the patient to a public adult facility or to continue care with the private provider should the parent/guardian/patient indicate their preference as such. Expected to commence last quarter 2019. CHI, acting in its capacity as Contracting Authority, invites tenders from suitably qualified and interested parties that wish to participate in an Open Competitive Tender Process Agreement for the provision of this program.
