Title
Lost Peatlands of South Wales Project – Schools Outdoor Learning

Description of the goods or services required
The Countryside & Wildlife Team of Neath Port Talbot Council wish to contract a consultant to lead on development of an outdoor learning schools programme, this shall include the delivery of a number of pilot taster sessions or school trips and make recommendations for the implementation of school grounds improvements and an ‘adopt a species’ scheme. The aim of the programme is to provide schools opportunities to undertake outdoor learning utilising local sites in the project area and school grounds whilst raising awareness and learning about biodiversity, features of local interest, peatlands and their restoration and renewable energy.
The programme developed by this contract will be subsequently delivered by project staff over the following 4 years and is dependent on securing further funding.
This contract is part of a 1 year project, ‘Lost Peatland of South Wales’, started end- July 2019 with this contract starting October 2019 and completed June 2020. The successful consultant will work alongside the Project Team in delivering the project, acting under supervision of the Project Manager.
Neath Port Talbot Council Countryside and Wildlife Team are looking for a suitable contractor to deliver the above project over the period October 2019 – June 2020 and are therefore inviting quotations.
Funding for this contract is being made available by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
