The University of Birmingham invites tenders for the design and supply of a battery test and observation chamber. The test and observation facility will be used for research and development of lithium-ion batteries, and lithium-ion battery recycling. In particular, it will be used as a safe environment to comminute lithium-ion batteries. The comminution equipment does not form a part of this tender.

General characteristics:

A free standing external structure containing an enclosed test chamber that can contain equipment and a small number of lithium ion batteries, and an observation room linked with an observation window. The test and observation chambers should be climate controlled for human comfort.
