    II.2.4) Description of the procurement

    The Scottish Accommodation Occupancy Survey (SAOS) provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date information on the demand for accommodation in Scotland. The fast turnaround of the results for each month means that the survey is a key indicator in monitoring the performance of the tourism industry in Scotland. VisitScotland (formerly the Scottish Tourist Board) commissioned the first occupancy survey in the 1970’s and they have evolved into the series of Accommodation Surveys which exist today. VisitScotland is running a tender exercise to find a suitably qualified supplier to continue the delivery of this survey.

    — industry engagement activity to promote survey participation and reporting and ensure maximum value to VisitScotland and Scottish tourism industry,

    — increase in actual participation in survey to ensure robust results across all sectors, regions and SMEs (including innovative approaches to data collection),

    — delivery of reports and completion of work (including ad hoc enquiries) within agreed timescales,

    — quality and usability of survey delivery method and reporting,

    — account management — invoicing, leadtimes, engagement, etc.
