Notice Abstract

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS Arden and GEM CSU) on behalf of Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are inviting suitably qualified providers who are capable of delivering primary medical services in Birmingham at Poplar Primary Care Centre, Kings Heath and Hodge Hill Family Practice, Hodge Hill.Both contracts have an anticipated start date of 1.1.2020 as the existing contracts will cease on 31.12.2019.As a result of this procurement exercise an agreement will be established with the successful bidder(s) for a period of 7 years [with the commissioner having the option to extend the contract for up to a further 3 years].

The practice has a raw list of 5 934 patients and a weighted list size of 5 997 patients (January 2019). The practice has a young population, 28,86 % of the registrants are under 19, compared to the national average of 22,75 %.

51,54 % of the population are aged between 20 and 49, compared to the national average of 41,3 % and only 19.6 % of registrants are over 50 compared to the national over of 35,98 %. The practice has a raw list of 4 624 patients and a weighted list size of 4 430 patients (January 2019). The practice has a young population when compared to the national average with 35,4 % of the practice population aged under 18, compared to the national average of 20,7 %.

Hodge Hill Family Practice is located at Hodge Hill Primary Care Centre, Hodge Hill, Birmingham. The premises were purpose built 10 years ago and the GP practice is co-located with a number of community services including; physiotherapy, pharmacy and podiatry. The building is managed by Community Health Partnerships (CHP).
