Notice Abstract

Digital Mail Room Systems and Advisory Services The Corporate Digital Mail Centre, based at Dollman Street, is currently being reviewed by the Commercial Hub team within Birmingham City Council (the Council). The Commercial Hub is tasked with ensuring the Digital Mail Centre is both viable and sustainable. As part of this review the Council is seeking engagement and input from the external marketplace to identify the best future direction for this service including operating models and technology. The options available include: •Continue to deliver the service in-house (preferred); •Deliver part of the service in house, and part of the service by a 3rd party. •A fully outsourced model delivery entirely by a 3rd party or in conjunction with someone else such as joint delivery, partnership or joint venture. The Council’s aspirations for this market sounding are: •To allow the Council to gain a greater understanding of current market offerings; •To allow the Council to explore the available options for the future of the service; •To identify future innovations and investment needed to create the Digital Mail Centre of the future, such as Hybrid Mail; •To understand potential partnership opportunities to support the Council to implement the changes identified. •To understand the available market offers for outsourcing operations – to include print, mail and scanning operations
