Notice Abstract

The purpose of the framework is to support the Environment Agency’s efficient management of the non coded boat fleet and ensure that through the provision of a comprehensive maintenance and repair service that the fleet remains in a good safe working condition.Small Vessel SIMAR refers to the servicing, inspection, maintenance and repair of the Environment Agency’s non-coded boat fleet, including a wide variety of boats, trailers and outboard motors. Justification for any framework agreement duration exceeding 8 years: The Framework requires the establishment & maintenance of an extensive supply chain and an extensive delivery set-up. The time and effort to establish this network require that the Framework is established for a possible total of 6 years.

Other contracting authorities: this framework is primarily intended to meet the needs of the Environment Agency. The Agency may require the successful bidder(s) to provide the services/works on the same terms that are agreed as a result of this tender to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and to its associated bodies including any Agencies and non-departmental public bodies, others (the Defra Group) and any other flood risk management authorities designated under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010. The Agency may also require the provision of the services/works to members of the aforementioned Defra Group via the environment agency, rather than directly.

The Environment Agency expressly reserves the right:

(i) not to award or enter into any contract as a result of the procurement process commenced by the publication of this notice;
