Notice Abstract

Despatch Software System Melton Meat Ltd is a wholesale Abattoir the computer system in place at the moment is now outdated, slow and requires a lot of manual inputting and therefore not efficient. The requirements of the system are:- Hardware and software to enable us to process data in four separate areas throughout the plant. The first area to be able to input incoming animals into the lairage and to be able to batch process them onto the slaughtering line. When carcasses are dressed they are weighed and graded and all this information needs to be logged on a tagging system, the information on this tag needs to include barcode, supplier, batch number, kill number, classification grade, weight of carcass, plant number, date and time and logo. At this point, this information needs to be reported back to the farmer who supplied the stock i.e. weight and grade sheets. Once the carcasses are in the chiller and labelled we need to scan them out at dispatch, this will then give full traceability from which farm each animal came from to each customer that is loaded. The fourth area of data needs to be in the office where all the information can be put together so that prices can be introduced to a) pay for stock b) to charge the customer. All this information then needs to tell us a) gross margin per farmer b) gross margin per customer this will enable us to price stock and products to give us the best return. As we work on small margins i.e. pence per kilo instant pricing is essential to be profitable. THE PROPOSAL Your proposal to this brief should consist of: - All aspects of this specification including identification of which parts of the proposal are standard software functionality/modules and those which would be bespoke/customised and all hardware requirements - Examples of competencies e.g. showing sample customers and projects within this sector - A project plan which includes clear details and testing of sign off phases. - The fully costed proposal should clearly identify costs against different elements of the solution and related services e.g. consultancy, software modules, hardware, training, customisation of software and support costs including annual /monthly and licensing costs.
