HSE SAOR© Screening and Brief Intervention (SBI) for Alcohol and Substance Use Train the Trainer: Request for Quotation (revised)
One of the aims of HSE Social Inclusion is to contribute to improved health outcomes for persons with issues relating to alcohol and substance use. As part of the HSE National Service Plan for Addiction 2019 action to continue to implement the health-led response to Reducing Harm Supporting Recovery (2017), a key priority for the HSE National Social Inclusion Office is to support the delivery of SAOR Screening and Brief Intervention for Problem Alcohol and Substance Use training nationally.
The HSE National Social Inclusion Office invite submissions from suitability qualified and experienced people on the delivery of the SAOR Train the Trainer Programme. Submissions should include a short proposal outlining how training will be delivered to remain faithful to and complement SAOR II and the revised training programme (appendix 1 of tender document).
Participants will be recruited by the HSE National Social Inclusion Office. Participants will be required to have experience of delivering training and to have completed the SAOR eLearning Programme on HSELand. It is anticipated that 22 participants will take part in the Train the Trainer Programme.
The Train the Trainer Programme will consist of the following:
1.Participation on a 1-day SAOR II workshop on 2nd December 2019;
2.Delivery of Motivational Interviewing I (note: MI training must be delivered by a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)) (suggested dates 3rd and 4th December 2019);
3.Delivery of Motivational Interviewing II (note: MI training must be delivered by a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)) (suggested dates 13th and 14th December 2019);
4.Support and supervision of the participants practice days in February 2020 (two days delivered by pairs of participants, ie 22 days in total);
5.Support the reflective practice of participants including delivery of verbal and written feedback to participants post training as per appendix 2;
6.Provide support and direction to trainers during the training session;
7.Provide copies of paperwork (appendix 2) to the National Social Inclusion office and make a recommendation on the suitability of participants to deliver SAOR post training.
Submission process and assessment
Submissions are invited and will be assessed on the following basis:
1.Experience in the delivery of Motivational Interviewing training
2.Experience in the delivery of SAOR training
3.Experience of health and addiction services
4.Experience of proactively engaging in reflective practice
5.Evidence of previous relevant work
6.Value for money (all quotes to be inclusive of VAT)
