The Public Appointments Service is the centralised provider of recruitment, assessment and selection services for the civil service. PAS manages recruitment competitions ranging from large volume uniform, clerical or administrative posts to senior executive and top level appointments.
STAR is the suite of web-based recruitment management modules that allows PAS to manage all aspects of its work. It includes candidate, client and employee web portals and the stateboards.ie website. The Publicjobs.ie website is built on a separate content management system (Joomla). The application deals with data of a highly confidential and classified nature. The websites and application handle large numbers of simultaneous transactions and traffic.
