European & UK Procurement Regulations

Public procurement in the UK and the rest of the European Union is governed by a number of
Directives and Regulations which are then implemented in national legislation.
the Procurement Directives and the corresponding UK Regulations.

The European Directives and the UK Regulations set out detailed procedures for the award of contracts
whose value equals or exceeds various financial thresholds. The values of the thresholds are expressed
in Euro's and so every two years the European Commission publishes the equivalent values in Pounds
sterling. Details of the thresholds, applying from 31st January 2006 are given
