What are CPV Codes? 

Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) codes were introduced by the EU in an attempt to standardise the classification of goods and services for the benefit of both publishing authorities and suppliers.

CPV numbers indicate the category of goods or services required ... i.e. a machine readable version of the contract description

CPV Codes will be included in most, if not all, tender notices and searches can be executed, using the codes to target notices for specific categories of goods or services.
