Notice Abstract

HMRC is exploring options for delivery of Identity Assurance services as an integral element of its Digital Services Strategy. This work is being progressed in conjunction with, and fully supporting, the Cabinet Office digital services strategy. HMRC has been working with a number of other public sector organisations, including GDS and DWP, to gather common requirements for Identity Assurance (IDA) services, products and processes. In this respect, IDA means developing capabilities that will: • Verify the real life identity of an individual • Validate that a business is bona fide • Provide strong credentials for customers to use when transacting remotely with HMRC • Develop appropriate authentication processes. HMRC plans to host a market engagement event to further develop its understanding of the market in readiness for any future procurement. The market engagement event is a significant opportunity for organisations to provide input through interactive group sessions and 1 to1 dialogue with the project team. Organisations will be able to discuss and share their experiences of identity solutions, best practice and scope for innovation to inform HMRC’s approach. During the event HMRC will talk about the components they expect to be part of a solution and how they best work with suppliers to achieve that i.e. Identity Provision, development and delivery of a Federated Hub, and Authority Management. The market engagement event will comprise of 2 stages: Stage 1 HMRC overview and interactive sessions (all organisations to attend) which will take place on 22 June 2012 at BIS Conference Centre, 1 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0ET from 10:00 to 16:30 Stage 2 1 hour dialogue sessions between HMRC and individual organisations that have participated in Stage 1, (detailed arrangements to be confirmed during the stage 1 event) Day 1 - 26th June 2012 London Day 2 - 28th June 2012 London Day 3 - 29th June 2012 London Day 4 - 4th July 2012 Newcastle Day 5 - 5th July 2012 Newcastle Day 6 - 10th July 2012 Bristol Additional dates may be added should they be required.

The Tenders Direct service is now a firm part of our business - it’s the starting point of our tendering activity and a crucial part of the process. The tenders we get are very accurate and the service was a vital component in helping us win the contract from the Department for Work & Pensions.
